Corners of my home

This is a corner of my home that is one of my favorites. Not particularly because I like to do laundry or anything, but because this is basically my cabinet. It stays neat, because, really; I am the only one who uses it. So, when my house feels disorganized, I have this little organized cabinet space, and it makes me feel good.

I am in the process of trying to make my laundry space lovable for lack of a better word, because if I have to do something that I don't want to do, I want to try to make it as pleasurable as possible. Kind of like when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. This cabinet is a first step.

Add a little mood music, like Ray Lamontagne or Amos Lee, candles or essential oil air refresher, and a hot cup of coffee and make that corner more lovable! LOL!

THAT is the biggest TIDE I have ever seen! :)

I am all about making rooms like this just as homey and cozy as all the others....it makes it easier to spend time in there!

It would be hard for me to make my basement laundry lovable. Though I guess that I've tried, by putting up some of the kids pics behind the cobwebs. :)

I love your baskets on the shelf. Did you make those or buy them already painted?

I like your containers! What a cute corner ... my laundry corner looks kind of depressing. You have motivated me to cheer it up!

Beautiful. This made me chuckle...lol - you are so sweet!! I like the idea of making anything to do with chores slightly less 'chore-esque', and am feeling inspired to pretty-up my "utility room", which is just a work surface with a great big pile of stuff on the top, and various essential household equipment underneath. The only thing I like about it at the moment is the lovely clean smell of washing detergent...hmmmmmm! Something must be done.
BTW would you mind if I 'borrowed' your concept of introducing 'corners of my home' for my blog?? I really think it's a lovely idea.

Hey friend! We ALL need a little spot o'me...:-) Somewhere we can take a deep breath and regain our "sanity". Good for you! It looks great, keep up the good work and when you're done...head on over to my house, k?! ;)

That's quite impressive. My laundry area is quite the opposite of yours.

Andrea, I really like these "corners..." posts of yours. I find it helps me to think in the same way. When I look at my house as a whole there is much to be desired...so much that needs to be organized, decorated, remodeled. But there are bits and pieces of the whole that I *love*. A favorite shelf and arrangement of objects, the way a piece of furniture works with another, etc. Incidentally, one of my favorite corners of my home (visually speaking) is the one my toilette sits in. *silly grin*

I'm with L.L. on having my laundry spot in an ugly basement...oh, well.

Court--That's just why I love you, girl, you make every place fun...

Anna--LOL it is a big Tide.

Susanne and Magnolia--thank you!

Mom--glad I gave you inspiration--wink, wink.

L.L.--Ive had many laundry rooms like that--all have been in closets--the one I have now is actually a ROOM!

Ginnie--the baskets are from Kmart. I put stickers on them to make them look pretty and labeled them "stain kit", "clothepins" and "Ironing Supplies".

Mrs. S--yay! Show me a picture.

Mrs. Wibbs--Certainly, I would *love* to see you post on "Corners of my home" frequently. I got the idea from a Flickr Group called "Corners of My Home", so you are not borrowing it from *me* by any means!! I like to look at it as another way to look at beauty in the details...

Kate--I would *love* to clean your laundry room for you--when and where...

Angela--so you are redoing it???...;)

Miriam--let's see your space!! But you've got that lovely baby to look at all day--I've got baby envy just looking at that sweet pic you have of her... :)
