Blogiversary

One year ago, I had a four month old baby, and was adjusting to being a mother of four children. We had had a scare with my baby, in that we discovered that he had congential horner's syndrome. After an MRI, we were relieved to find out that there was no tumor or lesion causing damage to his nerve, but that it was congential. God's power was on us in that situation, and we are grateful for the miracle that all was well.

I needed an outlet. I've written many times here why I blog, so I won't go into it any more than I already have, but it intrigued me to find a way to express my everyday on a special place on the web--a weblog!!

After reading excellent blogs by Amy the Humble and Barbara, I started my own, gingerly and tenderly. It was definitely Baby Steps. I would never had imagined how it has changed me for good, and how wonderful it is to have a small space here where I can "work out my faith" on the keyboard. I surely want it to be for the glory of God, and if I've encouraged you along the way, then glory be to Him! I have certainly been encouraged myself just from organizing my own thoughts about this journey that I'm on.

And with a birthday, there has to be presents, right? Readers and lurkers, leave me a comment. A "hi" or just tell me what you are doing in your world as we speak. I will draw two names on Friday, March 16th for the prizes of my all-time favorite mothering encourager book Stepping Heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss, along with a Dan Zanes cd of Parades and Panoramas.(That's a book and cd for 2 people each, not separate.)

Thank you all, as always, for reading! Your comments encourage me tremendously!

You don't need to put me in the draw (too much to ship things to Canada), but I did want to wish you much happiness. It really is amazing how our blogs help us grow and develop, and how they can reach out and touch others in similar ways! =)

Hi Andrea, What a sweet picture!

Your blog has been an encouragement to me. It is so nice to find other likeminded women and learn from them and hopefully encourage them as well. Thank you!

Andrea,

Happy day! Yes, your blogging is a tremendous blessing - an encouragement in hard times and a constant inspiration to live well as a mama and a wife. *Thank you*. I'm glad that the blogging experience has been so good for you, also.

Stepping Heavenward is one of the books I hope to read this year, so yes, please...put me in for the drawing!

And, I agree with the others; such a lovely pic. I love how your photos often hold a bit of mystery. :)

Congratulations! I would sing "Happy Birthday", but it wouldn't do you any good. I hope I find that after a year of blogging I have grown and inspired others as it sounds like you have.

Happy blogiversary! (I just had mine, too!) Isn't it just so neat to me to have a record of all the things God is teaching us!

Blessings to you as you go on (and If I didn't say so the last time I popped in, I *love* the positivity of your blog name!

(It's why I visited you in the first place!)

Hey Sista, Happy Blogiversary! I've been deeply inspired by your blog and look forward to reading it daily. Thanks for sharing your intimate thoughts and insights as well as thought-provoking excerpts from your favorite writers, in a eloquent prose I might add, so that others may be encouraged and nurtured. May God bless you in your journey!
P.S. I need to reread my copy of Stepping Heavenward.

What a beautiful, intimate photo. I love it.

You are such an encouragement to me and I am so glad that I have found your blog. It is so refreshing to read from other Christian moms about their walk...the triumphs and the struggles. It just makes it all that more interesting to me....the reality of walking with Christ in the REAL world.

Thank you!

I'll say hello, even though this is my first visit. I'll be back for more. I loved your post about prayer and mothering. I needed to hear that reminder because I tend to rely far too much on my own strength and then I'm overwhelmed when I feel sapped and worn out. I also love the Cassatt paintings in your header.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm glad to meet you :)

Greetings Andrea, from a little 'quaint' part of the world on the other side of the Atlantic...
I've only just 'landed' here from Miriam's little corner and from the very little I've read so far I can truly say that I like your blog: it seems very much that you are a Mum after God's own heart! And a kindred spirit?
I too have found, like you, that blogging is an amazing outlet of creativity, and for me, it is a real gift from the Lord. I have learnt so much from others in the Blogosphere, and feel truly blessed and thankful for it. I would never imagine that it would 'grow me' the way it has, and I know there is more to come!! I so look forward to delving into your posts, and hope you will pop over to meet me and mine at some point too :)
All the best, and a very happy Blogiversary to you!!!

Loved your post. We're wanting to add to our family soon and I've wondered in these last few months, "How could I love another as much as I do this one." But I know God expands our hearts and that I'll have enough for 2 or 3 or more.

Janel said...

Andrea, I just wanted to pop on and say CONGRATULATIONS!!

Hugs,
Janel

P.S. You don't have to put me in the drawing either. I already have and love Stepping Heavenward. :)
