Dinner prep

sometimes, dinner prep is such a madhouse around here, i feel like i could pay money for a little quiet cookin'
well...i did.

adventures in odyssey platnium collection gave me an hour of quiet time while preparing dinner...

i think i like the "great wishy woz" so far....

even an almost-two-year-old is enthralled by the truths of God in storytelling form

worth every penny.

Oh! Yes! Worth every penny! I grew up listening to those, and still ask for them for Christmas and my birthday - for ME! You can also listen to them online...let me know when you get done with yours!

We love the great wishy woz at my house too!

I have cut out the Cyberchase (public television "math" show) in the afternoons because it made me feel guilty seeing them there in a row like zombies... thanks for reminding me that there are acceptable alternatives :-).

I have heard that Mrs. G has incredible Bible stories and have been meaning to get some of her stuff. If you or anyone else is interested in getting some, you can email her at mrsg@allstream.net

If anyone knows a cheap place to get Adventures in Odyssey, let me know...

Danielle,
We have Mrs. G, too and I do like her.
As far as cheap AIO, try half.com or a used copy on Amazon?

I just discovered today that our library has like the entire Odyssey collection. Woohoo! My daughter has never listened to them, but I'm hoping that she's old enough to enjoy them now. We'll see :)

This is great to know...our littles don't watch TV...maybe this would be good. I didn't know if they were old enough (oldest is 5)...they sit very still for books so maybe this would be great.

In my community, "Jonathan Park" CDs are very well recommended. But those must be for older children..around 7/8 I think.
Thanks! In Christ, Mary Brooke in Atlanta

This is just what I needed--I had been thinking of purchasing some of these, and if it might keep my 3 year old still and quiet, it would be worth it! My 9yo already enjoys books on tape.

I found a FREE daily AIO broadcast on oneplace.com the other day. http://www.oneplace.com/Ministries/Adventures_in_Odyssey/archives.asp?bcd=2007-09-13
You can either listen through Windows Media or Real Player. It also has an XML feed link that you can subscribe to. I have the feed on my homepage everyday. They also have Paws and Tales. Hope someone can use this info. Have a great weekend.
Blessings,
