1732 dreaming

Yesterday we visited a dear friend's 1732 home.

It is really a piece of living history. (I love this old wood on the walls.)

Original pine floors.

Just think: this house was here before the Revolutionary War...
And people are still living in it!
In fact, there is a secret passageway in the house where it was thought that soliders were hid from the British during the Revolutionary War.

In the kitchen, the original fireplace for cooking...
(still able to be used)

On the property, a small pond for finding frogs and tadpoles, and all kinds of pond life...

Beautiful weather, dear friends, yummy food....a wonderful day.

WOW - I love to watch these types of programs on HGTV but you actually got to see it and think about what it would have been like

what a beautiful day for you and your family. M

Ahhh, your pics from this week are *killing* me... as the snow continues to fall on the canadian prairies.... green as that grass with spring envy but happy spring does indeed exist somewhere...

Oh, I love old houses and old buildings...the history, the character, the stories they tell.

WOW!
My house is old for our town, which only dates back to 1900. Still, that's just a baby compared to a 300 year old house.

This house is just beautiful and its history makes it even more so. Your friends are very lucky owners...imagine all the things the kids can learn there. Really lovely...
