Creative preparation

"Mama, take a picture of my french toast--it's so pretty!"

"But as we are speaking about food, let us prepare it beautifully for each person: in the family,
to enhance communication and a feeling of loving care in the home; among friends and guests of all sorts; but also for strangers, who can do nothing in return for you..."
~Edith Schaeffer The Hidden Art of Homemaking

It *is* so pretty. I LOVE the plate, and sunshine + anything = beautiful. I just had to stop what I was doing a bit ago to pick up my camera and snap a few pictures of my sheets on the line, with the sunlight hitting them. It just made me sigh and feel happy inside =)

She's developing a great eye for beauty as you place it before her, literally. I love how brief it is--you're about to eat it, yet you took the time (slowing down!) to make even something as simple and basic as breakfast French toast be both healthy and pretty.

You really are a wonderful example of a slower lifestyle! I'm honored to have you as one of the Live from the Slow Zone contributors!! Thank you!

My daughter used to make comments like that and she went on to receive a degree in Interior Design. :)

Now she makes lovely food for her hubby and four children.

I love that plate!

you know, this quote is so true. this past summer when i was going through a really hard time, my sister in law, who creates beautiful and yummy dishes made me dinner and lunch. it was not only delicious but the presentation was so well done i just felt so cared for. when we take the extra time to show someone we care, it really makes such a difference!!
