Friday five

1. Summer has gotten me in the kitchen, using all of the delicious fruits and veggies in season. I found a great deal on organic basil at the grocery store and made batch after batch of pesto. Yum!
I'm inspired to try to make my own pasta after reading this post.

2. We took our first of many "summer trips" over the Fourth of July to Utah where a lot of my husband's family lives. It's never "relaxing" but always fun visiting the many friends and family we have there. I have to say Utah does the Fourth right! Family, fireworks, food and fun.

3. This recipe looks so yummy.

4. While in Utah, I got to see Elise again. Such a treat. She wrote a whole post about me!! And I could never match what she wrote so beautifully. So go read it. There is just something to be said for someone who knows you and knows your heart and understands you. It's so rare to find. It's so wonderful to feel understood.

5. My oldest daughter is working on an etsy shop. She makes beautiful ribbon headbands for girls. I will be sure to let you know when she gets it up and running so you can support her! ;)

That's it for now. Have a wonderful weekend!!

I have come from Elise's to say how lovely it is that the two of you got to spend time together, and to say how beautiful I think you both are. You inspire me and make me wish I'd somehow done a better job when my children were little ones. So glad you had that time.
